Like a moth to a flame, or a lush to an open bar

To want some light, or an escape, seems only natural
When striving day to day feels like falling down a rabbit hole
with no clue where it's going

Or what palms are to a prayer - a full circuit - like a flashlight turning on

Waking up from what was a real bad dream
feel like I'm losing my mind, everywhere I keep seeing
the same old faces and memories
and hearing voices in my head i thought were history saying

It's that time of the year again
deaths and births have come full circle
and up from underground
Well I took off to the street and I was feeling the worst
when I saw a sign read free pizza party posted on this church
and I figured I'd go in cause I could use a retreat
looking like a pug-nosed dog breathing heavy in this heat, and they said
Good Day, Happy Spring
and ain't it a blessing
there's a time for everything
a time to mourn and a time to sing
